In their latest Grand Tour, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond turned their amused and confused attention to the strange and wonderful world of French cars and the relationship between France and cars.
Along the way, the trio — they actually filmed most of the one-off episodes in Wales — mastered some classic French engines, one of which was powered by a propeller, and proceeded at their pace.
They also asked Citroen 2CV and Pluriel to do things they were definitely not suitable for, and to enjoy a highly competitive game hampered by some typical French obstacles.
"We tried to see the weirdness of French cars," Clarkson said.
"French people, their thinking is different from ours. French cars have always been weird.
"Even today, if you tell them they have to make an ordinary, simple hatchback and sell it to millions of people around the world, they will put the steering wheel under the dashboard or do some unconventional matter."
As always, it's fun-although what French fans of the show will think, we have to wait and see.
